Marketing Intern (Summer 2023)

Duties / Responsibilites

Position Summary:

The Marketing Intern will gain valuable experience and understanding of domestic supply chain market conditions and trends. The intern will support the planning, organization, implementation, and execution of marketing campaigns, projects, and initiatives across several channels. This person is responsible for contributing to the department’s success through coordination of promotional item production, project plans, printing, translations, legal and compliance review, creative workflow, creative output reporting, scheduling, and other assigned duties. This role works closely with the department director and vendor and agency resources to ensure that campaigns and projects are executed excellently. They will bring a high level of organization and accountability to tracking and moving initiatives forward.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports all marketing staff in the execution of key projects, campaigns, and initiatives
  • Supports the smooth completion of all marketing processes and recommends efficiencies where appropriate
  • Facilitates the flow of the creative process and output reporting, strategy, internal clients, and vendors, including but not limited to legal and compliance reviews, translations, and creative trafficking
  • Coordinate’s printing, promotional item selection, and production
  • Maintains and updates project plans, marketing calendars, and other resources that support effective work
  • Maintains appropriate shared files of decisions and assets
  • Prepares proposals, assists with hosting events, and researches marketing trends

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate course for marketing, communications, graphic design, or similar field

Language Ability:

Ability to comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of Terra Worldwide Logistics.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer)
  • Adobe Creative Suite, Canva
  • Social Media Outlets
